(Comedy | Musical)
[1 hour 22 minutes]

Bridge construction worker Fred Johnson is raising his twelve year old
daughter after his wife's death, but when he is killed suddenly in an
accident, responsibility falls to his two friends, Buzz Blackwell and
Axel Swenson. They bring young Pat to New York, but are given the brush
by Fred's well-to-do brother and his socialite wife. They end up making
contact with her elderly great-uncle, an unsuccessful vaudevillian, and
his wife, who are only too happy to raise the youngster. Unfortunately
the money that would make that possible is used by Axel to buy a failing
Swedish restaurant drowning in red ink. In order to salvage their
investment, Buzz comes up with a novel idea.

The Boys From Syracuse
THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE

(Comedy | Musical)
[1 hour 13 minutes]

The action takes place in Ephesus in ancient Asia Minor, and the
story concerns the efforts of two boys from Syracuse, Anthipholus
and his servant Dromio, to find their long-lost twins who, for
reason of plot confusion, are also named Anthipholus and Dromio.
Complications arise when the wife of the Ephesians, Adriana and
her servant Luce, mistake the two strangers for their husband,
though the couples eventually get sorted out after Adriana's
sister Luciana and the Syracuse Antipholus admit their love.

Popular songwriter Oliver Courtney has been getting by for years
using one ghost writer for his music and another for his lyrics.
When both writers meet at an inn, they fall in love and then try
to sell their songs under their own name. The problem is every
song publisher thinks they're copying Courtney's style.

SPRING PARADE

(Comedy | Musical)
[1 hour 29 minutes]

In this light and lovely romantic musical, a Hungarian woman
(Deanna Durbin) attends a Viennese fair and buys a card from a gypsy
fortune teller. It says that she will meet someone important and is
destined for a happy marriage. Afterward she gets a job as a baker's
assistant. She then meets a handsome army drummer (Robert Cummings)
who secretly dreams of becoming a famous composer and conductor.
Unfortunately the military forbids the young corporal to create his own
music. But then Ilonka (Durbin) secretly sends one of the drummer's
waltzes to the Austrian Emperor with his weekly order of pastries.
Her act paves the way toward the tuneful and joyous fulfillment of
the gypsy's prediction.

[1 hour 38 minutes]

Irish colleen Nellie is in love with handsome Jerry Kelly, even though
her father objects. Nellie and Jerry soon marry and announce plans to
move to New York, which again angers Nellie's father. Still, fear of
never seeing his daughter again convinces the old man to also head to
the States. In New York, Jerry becomes a policeman, although fighting
crime seems to be easier than fighting with his father-in-law.
Tragedy strikes when Nellie dies in childbirth. Jerry and the meddling
old man continue to live together and have constant battles over how
to raise young Nellie, who grows up to look exactly like her mother.

A Night at Earl Carroll's
A NIGHT AT EARL CARROLL'S

(Musical)
[1 hour 2 minutes]

Newly-elected reform Mayor Jones celebrates his victory over
the crooked political machine with a party at Earl Carroll's
night club. Steve Kalkus, the defeated racketeer-politician,
has Earl Carroll and several of his acts kidnapped, figuring
the kidnapping coup will cause Jones to be laughed out of
office. In Carroll's absence his assistant, Ramona Lisa, and
his press agent, Barney Nelson put on the show themselves
with the remaining talent, the chorus girls and also pressing
into the entertainment cigarette girls, cloakroom girls, the
doorman and others including oil heiresses Brenda Gusher and
Cobina Gusher. Carroll and the other prisoners make their
escape when a kidnapped juggling act sends their captors
down in a barrage of beer bottles.
